About Me

Professional Singer, Dynamic Teacher NYC

I am currently performing in NYC in Musicals, Concerts, Operas and TV/Film. I am a Juilliard Opera Center Alum and have my degrees from California Institute of the Arts and UCLA in Voice, Vocal Performance and Music. I teach a classical base that comes out of the Marchesi tradition and can be applied to ALL styles of Singing for healthy sound. I also specialize in the use of the breath, over-breathing and its consequences of nodules. I will vocally build a voice or get a voice back into shape along with preparing students for College Auditions, choosing repertoire, monologues and setting up resumes. I have taught Voice, Acting and performance for over 24 years in the US and Europe. Serious technique and serious FUN! Creativity, intuition, support, encouragement and enthusiasm are also trademarks I teach with. Continued Success! Alison England

Not only is Mrs. England an extremely gifted performer, singer and actress, but she is also very gifted with young students and singers. Her years of training in many different fields leads to a well rounded way of directing and teaching. She is very warm, kind and is an amazing people-person. She relates to men and woman of all ages, makes friends with men and woman of all ages and this makes her teaching very easy to understand and comprehend. She loves what she does and it is obvious in the way she works. She knows many different styles, she knows what people want and she is an outgoing, energetic mentor who you will love not only as a teacher but as a person.

Ms. England is hands down the most incredible voice teacher I have ever had. Not only is she incredibly talented and knowledgable, she is also immensely loving and invested in my happiness. I know that when I go into a lesson that we are going to work hard and tackle my concerns and problems. She encourages me to grow and face my fears ever single time I'm in the room with her. I have grown not only as an artist but as a person having her in my life. I would recommend her to ANYONE that needed a lesson, and I encourage you to take a lesson from her! You WON'T regret it!

Not only is she greatly experienced and knowledgeable, but Ms. England is also greatly loving. She creates an safe, supportive, and fun environment for her students. In addition, she approaches the material from this same heartfelt place, teaching her students how to instill lyrics with emotion and meaning - a valuable guide for any singer wishing to act their songs. This mixture of technical expertise and theatrical insight into the material makes her a perfect coach as well as a superlative singing teacher!
