I have been teaching piano, voice, guitar, and music theory to kids and adults of all ages for about 4 years now and am so passionate about what I do. I am currently completing my 4th year of coursework at Montclair State University in Music Therapy, with a concentration in Voice. As a music therapy student, I implement my training in therapy into my lessons, in order to design a completely individualistic, humanistic approach to adapt to every student's unique qualities and strengths. I have been teaching lessons in The Bergen County area for years, and have also worked through a company, Home Sweet Home, teaching lessons in Essex and Sussex County. In addition to teaching music lessons, I have worked with kids in a music setting while completing fieldwork at the Therapeutic School and Preschool in Belleville, where I continued to work as a one-on-one aid for kids with special needs. I worked as a camp counselor and assistant arts and crafts director with the River Edge Summer Recreation Program for a few years as well. In many cases, children grow to dislike music lessons for various reasons, and my goal is to instill a love and a passion for music in my students. I encourage students to choose repertoire they are excited about, and to practice at a pace that I think will be most meaningful for their personal progress. If you have any questions about me, or more about what my lessons entail, please feel free to reach out!

I am completing my 4th year of coursework in Music Therapy with a Concentrarion in Voice at Montclair State University. Througout my studies, I have performed at Carnegie Hall, in several collaborations with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and in a collaboration with the Richard Alston Dance Company from London. Some of my coursework has included Child Psychology, Exceptional Children, Music Therapy with Children, Piano, Guitar, Voice, and fieldwork in Music Therapy, notably working in pediatrics at the Therapeutic School and Preschool in Belleville.
I consider my teaching approach to be entirely individualistic. My priority is always to first meet my student where they are, and then challenge them to succeed and be the best that they can be. I understand that all students will need different teaching approaches; some may need more structure than others, some may be interested in different repertoire than others, and that's okay! For piano, I rely on John Thompson's Easiest Piano Course for children, which I supplement with extra material.
