About the teacher
I am currently a Performance Finger-style guitar major at UWMilwaukee’s Peck School of the Arts. I took private percussion lessons with the retired lead chair in the MSO, Tele Lesbines, for +8 years. I took piano and theory lessons from a UWM teacher for +5 years and have taken guitar lessons with Benjamin Kammin, Peter Baime, and John Stropes of the UWM guitar department for the last two years. Overall I have played guitar for 6 years now, but I have been taking formal lessons in music from professionals all my life so I have down a good teaching method from all these years.

Education relevant to teaching music
Have had theory classes throughout elementary school, from the school and privately with my piano teacher. I had drumset lessons starting in first grade which eventually turned into percussion instruments playing with bands, orchestra's, and symphonies. I did percussion in MYSO for a year doing the percussion ensemble, the symphony orchestra, and set in the jazz combos. I kept taking piano and theory lesson up until 8th grade then I had to do two semesters of piano lessons so I am picking it back up. My strength is what I am going to school for which is Finger-style guitar, but I have had lessons in both classical and authentic flamenco lessons which I am able to teach too. I have played in garage bands and I also have a one-man band show with my BOSS RC-50 loop-station that I have giged out with dozens of times.
Teaching philosophy and approach to teaching
I think, that most of the techniques needed to play guitar can be learned through a set of songs that build up in difficulties. Then learn from the repertoire what they need to focus on more in depth technically which I have multiple books I could use from Pumping Nylon- Bensusan’s Guitar Book. I have different groups of songs that are at different difficulties so I can give the student a choice to what song they want to learn while still staying in reasons limits.
