About the teacher
I received my first guitar in 1972! I should be a lot better for all the years I’ve played – but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I have volunteered at a church for many years, singing and playing guitar, and taught a class guitar group, and individual lessons. I have mostly taught kids, but there’ been a few adults. I can teach , beginner to intermediate – no matter what age!

Teaching philosophy and approach to teaching
I like to teach the way I learned. With a few basics from a little book I’ve put together, I start them out with one or two basic chords. Usually the tail end of the G chord and the tail end of the C chord. This requires only one finger pressed down. Believe it or not – there are many folk songs and children’s songs that you can play through with one or two chords. So I teach them songs they can play at home. Then, to teach new chords, I go into a different key to pick up three solid chords. Usually A – D – E. I teach an array of mostly folk songs and for younger kids I have children’s songs.
