Aloha! My name is Brooke Alcuran and I am a teacher and performer living in ‘Aiea, Hawai‘i. My first musical experiences came from piano, violin, cello, and viola lessons, which propelled me into my singing, musical theatre, and opera career. I am a 2017 graduate of the University of Hawai‘i at MÄnoa, where I studied voice under Dr. Maya Hoover and pedagogy under James Adam (Blair) Boone-Migura. I am also an active performer. I am a chorus member Hawai‘i Opera Theatre and an associate of the Mae Z. Orvis Opera Studio. Some of my favorite musical theatre credits include the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Mersister/Ensemble in The Little Mermaid, now showing at Diamond Head Theatre. I am willing to take on students of all ages over the age of 3. Feel free to contact me by email, call, or text. Thank you for stopping by my profile!

Bachelor of Arts in Music, Voice Performance from University of Hawai‘i, MÄnoa
Trained in the bel canto/classical singing style by Betty Grierson, Neva Rego, and Dr. Maya Hoover.
Performance credits in musical theatre and opera: Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (‘Iolani Dramatic Players), Nimue/Ensemble in Camelot (Diamond Head Theatre), Chorus in Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Hawai‘i Opera Theatre), Mersister/Ensemble in The Little Mermaid (Diamond Head Theatre), Chorus in Carmen (Hawai‘i Opera Theatre)
My teaching style is very individualistic and focused on each student's needs.
I teach mainly in the Bel Canto (or classical) singing tradition because it provides a solid foundation for the variety of singing styles a student will explore outside of the studio. I am knowledgeable in French, German, and Italian and am able to teach classical art song repertoire in these languages as well as pieces from the classical Broadway repertoire, i.e., Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, etc.
